Encaustic pieces can lend themselves to realism type projects or abstract expression, It is a very y versatile and forgiving medium.
For this piece, I was inspired by quiet peacefulness of the beach and wanted to capture it in this multi-media piece. With over 20 layers of beeswax on 4x4 gallery wood panels, original photographs of Nova Scotia coast lines beads and stones from the respective beaches were heat fused and transferred to the wax surface.
I feel that I have captured and conveyed that calm and very special summer serenity that Nova Scotia offers.
